CVR: INEC Deletes 2.5m From Voter Register

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has deleted 2.7 million new registrants in its recently concluded Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu made this known at the National Endowment for Democracy event in Washington DC, in the US.

Yakubu said the 2.7 million registrants were deleted for multiple registration during the exercise.

According to him, about 50 per cent of the new permanent voter card for those who participated in the exercise are ready.

He, however, said the new PVC are yet to be distributed to the various collection centres.
