Court To Decide Fate Of Senator Adeola In The Ogun West Senatorial Poll

A Federal High Court, Abeokuta, will on January 30, deliver judgement on a suit seeking to stop the All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for the Ogun West, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, from the 2023 polls in Ogun State.

The court is to determine if the senator who is still representing Lagos West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, could transfer his voter registration from Idimu in Lagos, to Ilaro in Ogun West, to contest the 2023 polls in Ogun West.

The plaintiff, Muideen Akintade filed the suit against the senator and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and others.

He was seeking the disqualification of the senator from contesting in the Ogun West senatorial poll in February 25.

Justice J. Abdulmalik after listening to counsels of all the parties to the case, reserved his judgement till Monday, next week.
