A federal high court, Abuja, has sacked a member of House of Representatives and 20 members of cross river state house of assembly, who defected with Governor Ben Ayade from the PDP to the APC.
Justice Taiwo, ruling in an application filed by the PDP to challenge the defection, ordered the affected lawmakers to vacate their seats.

The PDP had filed the application since august 2021, seeking their removal from office for defecting to the APC.
Justice Taiwo said the counter-affidavit filed by the lawmakers was defective.
He warned politicians to always remember that the political powers of elected officials belong to the electorate.
