Court Rejects Suit Seeking Dissolution of Ogun PDP Executive Committee

Ogun state high court sitting in Abeokuta has dismissed an application filed by an Ogun state governorship candidate, Olusegun Sowunmi, seeking the dissolution of the party’s state executive committee.

Alternatively, the aspirant had asked the court to direct the setting up of a caretaker committee to run the committee or to ban all members of the committee from ward to state levels from presiding over the primaries.

Also, he asks the court if his demands are rejected, to approve three Adhoc ward delegates for the conduct of the governorship primaries.

In his application, Sowunmi accused the executive committee of contributing money to purchase the PDP governorship nomination form for an aspirant, honorable Ladi Adebutu.

Justice Abiodun Akinyemi ruling on the application on Thursday rejected the prayers of the plaintiff.

According to the judge, the court will not interfere in the case, which according to him, is a pre-election matter and a PDP family affair.

Meanwhile, the counsel of the applicant, barrister Monday Marwah told a Rockcity FM correspondent, Busola Adegbite that his client would appeal against the judgement.
