Court Jail Driver for Reckless Driving

An Abeokuta magistrate court, Isabo on Monday has sentenced Tajudeen Oyebo to two years imprisonment for reckless driving.

Alternatively, the court ordered him to pay the sum of ninety-eight thousand naira to the victims of the accident as restitution and repair of the car involved in the accident.

The convict who was docked on three count charges pleaded guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Olu-Balogun Lawrence told the court that the convict committed the crime on November 16 2021, at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta.

According to him, the convict who was a driver of a Toyota Picnic commercial car marked Lagos AKD 213 XK, hit another Toyota Camry private car with two occupants due to his reckless driving.

The two occupants were injured and rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, for medical care.

Delivering his judgement, the Chief magistrate Dehinde Dipeolu said the prosecution has proven its case beyond reasonable doubt that the convict was guilty of the crime and convicted him.
