Court Frees Teenager Held for Beheading Girl for Money Ritual

A magistrate court has discharged one of the teenagers held for beheading a girl for money ritual alongside his three friends in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The teenagers were arrested last January 28 at Kugba, near Adatan in the city after allegedly beheading a girl for money ritual.

17-year-old Wariz Oladeinde, was discharged on Monday by Chief Magistrate I.O Abudu, who freed him based on the legal advice received from the State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).

The chief magistrate ruled that no charge was recorded against Oladeinde in the legal advice.

The chief magistrate also said hes based his judgment on the investigation by the police which proved his innocence in the crime.

The prosecution had alleged that the four teenagers conspired to kill miss Sofiat Okeowo, who is a girlfriend to one of them, Soliudeen Majekodunmi.

The four accused teenagers had been remanded at the Oba Correctional Centre since February 3, on the order of the court.

The chief magistrate adjourned the case till April 22 for further hearing of the charges against three other teenagers charged to court.
