Court Dismisses Jimi Lawal’s Suit Against INEC

A Federal High Court in Abeokuta, has dismissed a suit filed by Jimi Lawal faction of Ogun State PDP, to compel INEC to enforce the last October 17 judgement of the court.

The judgement by another Federal High Court in Abeokuta had directed the PDP to re-run its primaries for the 2023 polls with a delegates list authenticated by INEC.

When the case came up for hearing on Thursday, a counsel to the Adebutu faction argued that there was a pending appeal against the October 17 judgement, and would be heard on November 14.

Jimi Lawal faction counsel then applied for the withdrawal of the application.

Justice Joyce Abdullahi granted the request and struck out the application.

She refused an application by Adebutu to be joined to the suit, saying it is premature.
