A general overseer of a popular church in Awka, the Anambra State capital, has been arrested with substances suspected to be drug at Murtala Muhammad international airport, Lagos.

Reverend Ugochukwu Ekwulem of Christ Living Hope Church was arrested by operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) last Monday.

NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi on Sunday, said the cleric was arrested while undergoing an outward clearance at the airport, to board an Ethiopian airline flight, on his way to Nairobi, the Kenyan capital for a three week crusade.

According to Babafemi, 54 sachets of drugs which tested positive for marijuana were wrapped around the body of the church leader

He adds that 40 parcels of Cocaine were also found concealed inside a body cream in his luggage.
