New Naira Notes: CBN Directs Banks To Operate On Saturdays
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has directed commercial banks to operate on Saturdays till January 31, 2023, to collect existing naira notes from customers.
The apex bank intends to introduce new N200, N500 and N1,000 notes on December 15, while existing notes will on January 31, 2023 cease to be legal tender.

The Director of CBN Corporate Communication, Osita Nwasinobi, at the CBN fair held at Ilorin, also said banks had been directed to start returning the existing naira notes to the apex bank.
