President Buhari has again confirmed that governor Mai Mala Buni remains the chairman of the APC national caretaker committee as he urges governors to allow Buni conduct national convention.

Buhari in a letter to the progressive governors forum, asks the governors and their followers to stop behaviors and utterances which may truncate the holding of the national convention.

He reminds the governors that the APC is facing several controversies and litigations, which if not checked, could lead to the invalidation of its preparation for the 2023 polls by the independent national electoral commission.

Ahead of the arrival of governor Buni in office, the secretary of the national caretaker committee, senator James Akpanudoedoe had regained the control of the committee to prepare for Buni’s conduct of the national convention.

Akpanudoedoe on Wednesday announced the cancellation of the meeting of the party’s national executive committee, scheduled to hold today.
