Body of Prospective NYSC Member Found in Sagamu

The body of a prospective NYSC member has been found in a bush at Sagamu in Ogun state.

The body of the late NYSC member, Miss Eunice Chioma Igweike, was found in a bush path along Sagamu-Imota road last July 21.

Chioma, posted from Aba in Abia state, was on her way to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Sagamu for mobilization under the 2022 batch ‘B’ service year, when she got missing.

Spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident, says the matter is being investigated by the command.

Oyeyemi who suspected that the incident is a murder case, says that Chioma is a graduate of Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra state.

Director of NYSC, Brigadier General Mohammed Fadah condoled with her family, the Ohafia clan and the Abia state government.

Fadah in a statement by the NYSC spokesman, Eddy Magwa said that the corps contacted the police when her brother called on July 20, that he had been calling her telephone lines without receiving an answer.

The body of Chioma was found the following day intact, dismissing online report that it had been mutilated.
