Body of a Cab Driver Found In a Bush in Ijebu Ode

Police have found the body of a commercial cab driver dumped in a bush in Ijebu axis of Ogun State.

The commercial driver, identified as Igwe Monday, was beaten to death in Ijebu Ode last September 23.

The State Police Commissioner, Abiodun Alamutu, said two suspects are now in police custody over the dumping of the body.

The suspects, Ogunsola Oluwatomisin and Odusina Olukunle, were alleged to have been hired by one Jonah James, to track the deceased he gave a commercial vehicle to operate.

The Police Commissioner, speaking while parading suspects before newsmen at the state police command headquarters in Abeokuta, said the owner of the vehicle suspected he had absconded with the vehicle.

Jonah James then allegedly contracted the two suspects and another person now on the run to track the deceased.

They eventually intercepted the deceased with the vehicle, beat him to death and dumped his body in the bush.

The police commissioner said the police anti-kidnap unit was notified of the body last September 23, after which investigations led to the arrest of the two suspects.

According to the Police Commissioner, the two suspects confessed to intercepting the deceased, beat him to death, and dumped his body into a bush, near Farari Motor Park in Ilese Ijebu.
