Bandits Invade Katsina Mosque, Shot Imam, Abduct 19 Worshipers

Armed bandits have attacked a mosque during night prayers in Katsina State.

Two worshipers, including the Chief Imam, were shot by the bandits who invaded the mosque at Maingamji village along Funtua-Dundun road.

Nineteen other worshipers were abducted by the bandits.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Gambo Isah, confirmed the attack.

He said that a combined team of police and vigilante were rescued on Saturday night and four others on Sunday morning.

The police spokesman said 13 of the abducted worshipers were still in the custody of the bandits.
