Ayu Says PDP Will Overcome Distracting Forces, Win 2023 Polls

Crisis in the PDP continues to deepen as the party says it cannot be destabilized by any individual, ahead of the 2023 polls.

National chairman, Professor Iyorchia Ayu said the party will not be distracted by those he accused of peddling crisis within PDP.

According to Ayu, the PDP is not dependent on any individual member and will win the 2023 polls.

Ayu spoke for the first time on the crisis in Kano, on Monday during the formal defection of Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and his supporters from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) into the PDP.

He asserted that the PDP is a people’s party, not built on any individual, so could not be held to ransom by any member.

Ayu predicted that the party will overcome all distracting forces seeking to hold it down from winning the elections.

It will be recalled that Governor Wike has been working against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Wike despite holding a reconciliation talks with Atiku last week, had been keeping the PDP in suspense by meeting with two other leading presidential candidates in the 2023 presidential poll.
