Armed Kidnappers Attack Bus On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Injure Passengers

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers, have again struck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The gunmen, fired gunshots at an 18 seat passenger bus on Tuesday, close to the Sagamu-interchange in Ogun State.

Several of the passengers were injured during the shooting.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the gunmen who were suspected kidnappers, were engaged by police patrols from Oyo and Ogun States.

Oyeyemi said several of the gunmen escaped with gunshot wounds.

Police, according to Oyeyemi, are now searching the forest, for the bodies of the gunmen who died from the gunshot wounds.

Some of the passengers said the gunmen dressed in military uniform, emerged from the forests, and opened gunfire on the inter-state bus.

They said all of the passengers lied flat in the bus, to avoid being hit by bullets which riddled the bus.

Last October 28, armed kidnappers in military uniform also attacked motorists at Dominion University axis of the expressway, close to Ibadan.

Several travelers, including a professor of the University of Ibadan, Adigun Agbaje, and three students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, were abducted.
