APC Govs Say Presidential Candidate May Emerge Through Consensus

The APC state governors have said that the party may opt for the consensus mode of primaries, to pick its presidential candidate for the 2023 poll.

Chairman of the progressive forum, Atiku Bagudu, gave this indication while addressing newsmen after a meeting with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Monday.

According to Bagudu, the APC would go for the best presidential  candidate to fly its flag in the 2023 poll.

He explains that the APC is a democratic party, but will consider the consensus mode if it is viable.

The forum chairman recalled how the party adopted consensus mode to pick its national chairman and other members of the national working committee at the recent national convention.

The meeting with Tinubu was attended by 13 APC governors, including those of Ogun, Kaduna, Kebbi, Lagos, Kano, Osun, Yobe, plateau, kwara, Imo, Jigawa, and Nasarawa states.
