Anxiety Over Midnight Explosion At Ogun Border Community

Fear has continued to grip residents of Ogun State border community of Ojodu Abiodun, following the Saturday midnight explosion in the area.

The explosion which rocked the community, while most of the residents were fast sleep caused panic in the area.

Police say that investigation conducted by the state command’s explosive ordinance unit, says the explosion was not from an improvised explosive device.

According to the police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the explosion was not a bomb attack.

He says that the explosion is from the refuse dump at Tarmac, close to the river valley estate, adding that there was no casualties or live lost during the incident.

Oyeyemi explains that the explosion was caused by the compartment of refuse in the dump.
