Anxiety As Nigerians Await Official Results Of Saturday Polls

There is anxiety nationwide as Nigerians await the official results of the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly polls, held on Saturday February 25, 2023.

The counting and collation of the results at the state levels began shortly after voting ended on Saturday.

However, results from some polling units were not ready on Saturday due to security problems and other issues.

The National Collation Centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the final collation of the results would open by 12 noon today in Abuja.

INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, who announced this during a news briefing on Saturday, said they were still expecting results, especially for the presidential poll,  from the states.

Last Friday, the INEC Chairman had promised that the release of the polls results would not be delayed.

But he could not say when it would ready for announcement to the public.

Meanwhile, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun uploading of results from different polling units in the Saturday polls into its server.

The agency started uploading the results on Saturday night, after massive protests on Twitter over its delay in doing so.

As a results, some of the results had started trickling in.
