Amotekun Declares War On Cultists, As Four Killed In Ogun Since Saturday

The Ogun State Amotekun Corps says it has launched a manhunt for members of cult groups, as cultists renewed a spate of killings in the state.

Last weekend, four persons, including three cultists were killed in Odogbolu and Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

One of them, a suspected cult leader based in Ikorodu was killed in a rival cultists clash in Odogbolu in Ogun East.

The rival cult group after killing him in a bloody clash, cut off his two hands and took them away.

Last Saturday, a cultist and a boy died in cultists attack at Pansheke in Abeokuta.

On Tuesday, a group of cultists also shot dead a man at Araromi, behind the Navy Boy Secondary School, Adigbe, also in Abeokuta.

The body of the victim has been evacuated by the police from Adigbe police divisional headquarter.

The Amotekun Corps’ commander, Retired Police Commissioner, David Akinremi, told a Rockcity FM correspondent, Yemi Eniola that the cultists who gone into hiding after the recent crackdown on them by security agencies, are now meeting and strategizing underground.

He said that his men and other security agencies were monitoring the incidents and doing serious investigations to make sure they are arrested and prevented from plunging the state into another round of killings.
