Amotekun Arrest 11 Suspected Cultists in Ogun

Ogun state Amotekun corps has arrested eleven suspected members of Aiye and Eiye cult groups in Ijebu north and Sagamu axis of the state.

The suspects arrested within two weeks, according to Amotekun, were involved in deaths recorded from the recent cult-related clashes in Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu Ode, and Sagamu.

The state commander of the corps, retired police commissioner David Akinremi, said they were arrested for armed robbery and drug trafficking in the area.

Four of the suspects, Ganiyu Femi, Abiodun Durojaiye, Toheeb Ariwoola, and Umar Abdullahi were arrested on  August 4 for allegedly robbing a 14 year old boy of his phone worth 140,000 naira at Sabo junction in Sagamu.

The commander said  the four suspects allegedly confessed to be members of Eiye confraternity cult group in Sagamu.

The seven others who were arrested for drug trafficking in the Ijebu north claimed to be members of Aiye cult group.

The Amotekun commander named them as Alimi Raimi, Ayotunde Onakoya, Ogunmade Seun, Ayodele Oreoluwakitan, Taofeek Shitta Bey, Ibikunle Gbenga, and Ebirugba Oluwaseun.

He said that the suspects were arrested while fighting for the control of drug market in the axis.
