ADC Adopts Peter Obi As Its 2023 Presidential Candidate

African Democratic Congress (ADC) has endorsed Peter Obi as its candidate for the February 25 presidential poll.

The party’s Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman, Doctor Man Ibrahim, announced the decision at an elaborate ceremony on Monday in Abuja.

He said the adoption of Peter Obi, followed consultations with the grand patron of ADC, former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

Ibrahim said that ADC expects Labour Party to reciprocate support for the ADC candidates in the February/March polls where they are stronger than their Labour counterparts.

At the event, a star alliance comprising Nigeria Mothers for Good Governance, Fulani United, Nigeria Artisans, League of Imams, Nigeria Traders, Yoruba United, Mega Political Coalition, Kanuris United, Nigeria Professional Group, DG Global Groups, Amalgamated Coalitions, Groups and Nigeria Legions United, was formed as a support group for the Labour candidate.

The governorship candidate of ADC in Cross River State, Effiong Nyong also corroborated this position when he said: “We are entirely part of the Obidient movement. We’re canvassing votes for Peter Obi

It’s our last chance to redeem this country from the total mess it has been plunged [into].”

They further disclosed that they have 1, 411 candidates contesting for other elective positions in the country.
