Adamu Cautions Party Leaders over Utterances on Security Situation

The APC national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu has urged party’s leaders to be mindful of their comments on the security situation in the country.

One of the party’s leaders, Governor Nasir El-Rufai, last week threatened to bring in foreign mercenaries to rid Kaduna state of terrorists ravaging communities in the state.

But the APC national chairman, in an interview with the BBC, said the impression being created by such utterances was that federal government had neglected security of the country.

Adamu warns that noise making would not solve the security problems.

According to him, if president Buhari had opted to strike hard to quell the security situation, there would have been shouts that he is undermining democracy and human rights.

The chairman warns critics that what they are doing amounts to one using a knife to rip open his stomach, adding that military and other security forces are doing their best to contain the growing insecurity.

Senator Adamu, however, said the security situation had defied solutions.
