ACF Warns Politicians’ Hate Speeches Heating Up Polity, Ahead Of 2023 Polls
The North Pan Socio-cultural Organization, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has warned that hate speeches by politicians and others could escalate the act of violence on a grand scale.
ACF, in a statement by its secretary, Murtala Aliyu, asks the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to invoke the provisions of the electoral act 2022 against such politicians.
The organization further warns that the use of hate speech, threats, as well as thuggery, is a recipe for violence in the country.
It asks politicians to halt their usage of vulgar language and violence for the purpose of electioneering.
The organization says it appears that many desperate political leaders and self appointed community champions are ready to add more to the life threatening challenges from insecurity and economic challenges facing the country.
According to ACF, most of the political leaders and community champions are driven by blind ambition and hatred.
