ACF Warns Against Disobedience Of Court’s Order On Old Naira Notes
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has warned that the continued disobedience of the judgement of the supreme court on the validity of the old naira notes may lead to the breakdown of law and order in the country.
The forum in a statement issued by its secretary generl, Murtala Aliyu on Sunday, said it was worried that crisis over the new naira redesign policy could dovetail into social disorder.
The apex court in its march 2, 2023 judgement on the suit filed to challenge the implementation of the policy ordered that old N200, N500 and N1,000 notes should be in circulation till december 31, 2023.
According to the forum, ten days are enough for the presidency to find a way of complying to the judgement of the supreme court.
