Abiodun Worried Over Involvement of Children in Cultism in Ogun

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state says he is worried over the rise in the involvement of children in cultism across the state.

According to him, it is unbelievable that primary school pupils are now joining cult groups in the state.

Abiodun tasked parents to take effective charge of their children to check the spread of cultism in the state.

The governor, baring his mind in Sagamu on the threat, during the 50th anniversary of the Sagamite Club, blamed some parents for the disturbing trend.

According to the governor, children who are now contributing to the rise in cultism in the state, are not spirits, but live with their parents.

He warned that there will be no socio-economic development when there are children in cultism and the cult groups are making them kill themselves.

In the past weeks, scores of suspected cultists, most of them members of the eiye and aiye confraternity, have been picked up by the police after engaging in bloody clashes in which more than 20 have died.
