Abiodun Signs Executive Order For Ogun Social Investment Proragrame

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has issued an executive order for the establishment of the state social investment programme in the state.

The programme is domesticating the federal government’s social investment programme.

Abiodun, issuing the executive order on Wednesday at the governor’s office, Abeokuta, said the programme would help in alleviating poverty and hunger in the state, by ensuring equitable distribution of resources.

Those being targeted as beneficiaries, include widows, traders, physically challenged, the aged persons and other vulnerable persons.

The governor said the programme would be managed by the Ogun State Social Investment Committee which would be reporting directly to him.

According to the governor, the committee would be headed by a reputable indigene with high integrity and relevant experience.

Other members of the committee are to be drawn from the ministries of finance, community development and co-operatives, local government and chieftaincy affairs, youths and sports, women affairs and special duties.
