Abiodun Alerts of Proliferation of Fake Monarchs in Ogun

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state has alerted of fake monarchs in the state.

He accused the fake monarchs of bringing confusion to the state and ridiculing the state’s traditional institutions.

The governor raised the alarm during the quarterly statutory meeting of the Ogun council of Obas held at the Obas complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

Abiodun, represented by the secretary to the state government, Tokunbo Talabi said that his administration will not allow a few unscrupulous elements to tarnish the image of the state and rubbish the traditional institutions.

The fake monarchs, according to the governor are procuring fake appointment letters, and parading themselves as traditional rulers without following the due process.

The governor said that his administration would move against such fake monarchs because it regards traditional institutions as a veritable platform for the enhancement of good governance.

Abiodun promised to continue  to cherish traditional rulers as strategic partners in its commitment for an inclusive, just, fair, equitable, transparent and obedience to the rule of law.

The chairman of the  council of Obas, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Akarigbo of Remo land, asked the state government to adequately fund the local security outfits in the state.

He thanked the governor for the fifty percent raise in the monthly subvention of the council.
