Ogun state recorded the third highest number of candidates in the south west region in the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

According to data on the 2022 UTME from by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB), Ogun state registered 96,965 candidates for the examination.

Lagos state tops in the south west with 257,887 candidates, followed by Oyo state with 98,834 candidates.

Ondo state came fourth with 48,449 candidates and Osun state with 47,759 candidates.

The examination which began last Friday, is scheduled to end in May.

Over 1.8 million candidates are writing the examination.
