612 Dead In 2022 Flooding Nationwide As At October 24

The death toll from flooding ravaging communities across the country, has increased to 612, as at October 24, 2022.

Also 2,776 had been injured, while 1.42 million persons were displaced, according to an update on the disaster by Federal Government.

Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, released the figure on Tuesday while addressing a news conference on the government’s intervention.

She adds that the flood also damaged over 123,000 houses, partially damaged 181,000.

The minister also said the flood damaged 392,399 hectares of farmlands, while 176,852 hectares of farmlands have been partially damaged.
