4,885 Households Affected By Flood In Ogun-NEMA

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) says the recent flooding affected 4,885 households in Ogun State.

According to NEMA, the flooding caused loss of lives, displaced persons and socioeconomic dislocation, as well as destruction of homes and submerging of cultivated farmland.

NEMA Director of Special Duties, Bandele Onimode, announced this in Abeokuta, on Wednesday during the flag off of the Buhari Administration Special Intervention on the release from the grain silo, grains and other relief materials for victims of the recent flood disaster.

Onimode handing over the relief material to the state government at a ceremony in Abeokuta, says the flood has brought untold sufferings to people in parts of the state in the past weeks.

The relief materials, included maize, sorghum, garri, rice, beans, vegetable oil, tomatoes, mats, mosquito nets, toilet soaps and clothes.
