27 Year Old Man Arrested For Defiling 10 Month Old Baby Girl In Lagos

A 27 year old man has been arrested for defiling a 10 month old baby girl in Lagos State.

The tragic incident, according to the Lagos State Police Command, occurred at Railway Ijora Badia last Monday.

The suspect sneaked into a house where a sixteen year old mother laid her baby on the floor, while she went out to buy some items in the neighbourhood.

Spokesman of the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspect raped the baby and ran away before her mother arrived home.

The mother, on arrival, took the baby to the Ijora Badiya Police Station, before taking her to a hospital for treatment.

Hundeyin said that detectives from the station tracked the suspects to his hideout at 11.15 pm on Tuesday and arrested him.

The official said the suspect admitted to the crime while being questioned, adding that both the complainant and suspect have given statements.

When the police arrived, Hundeyin claimed, the crime scene was documented, and a blood-stained pair of trousers was taken away as evidence.

He said the suspect and case file would be forwarded to the state command’s Gender Department.
