The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has unanimously reinstated Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s national secretary on the condition that he withdrew all legal cases and does not obstruct the forthcoming national elective convention slated for august.
PDP acting national chairman, Umar Damagum told journalists after the NEC meeting held in Abuja on Monday that Anyanwu had been officially reinstated, adding that he has also been told to abide with the party’s decisions.
Damagum also said that the 101th NEC meeting had been scheduled for July to finalize arrangements for the upcoming national convention.pdp has been struggling with internal conflicts since the 2023 presidential election, which have significantly impacted all arms of the party.
PDP bot’s chairman and former senate president, Adolphus Wabara, stated that regardless of the actions of detractors, the party would never collapse. Former senate president, Bukola Saraki echoed similar sentiment, adding that they agreed on the need for unity as a way of sending a signal to the entire nation that PDP can provide good leadership.
