The FIRS has announced that its offices will stay open on weekends throughout June to help companies file their annual tax returns on time.
Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), ordered the extended hours as thousands of businesses rush to meet the 30th June deadline for submitting their paperwork. The decision, according to a statement on Monday by Dare Adekanmbi, special adviser on media to the FIRS chairman, reflects Adedeji’s commitment to aligning the agency’s customer-focused policy with practical steps.
