Abiodun commissions Nigeria’s first diagnostic test factory

The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has commissioned Nigeria’s first large scale rapid diagnostic test (IVT) production facility and second of its kind in Sub-Sahran Africa.
The company, codix bio limited, an in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) factory, located along the Sagamu Expressway is equiped to manufacture test kits for Hiv, Malaria, as well as hepatitis b and c.
The governor, speaking at the commissioning on Friday expressed delight over the giant strides, adding that with the capacity of the facility to produce about 147 million test kits annually, the factory marks the dawn of a new era in bio-medical innovation in the country. The minister of health and social welfare, prof. Ali pate muhammad and his education counterpart, Dr Tunji Alausa, commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for the good job he is doing in Ogun state while Codix bio limited’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sammy Ogunjimi, lauded the governor for his support.
