Nigeria’s defense minister in China for security deal

The minister of state for defense, Bello Matawalle, is participating in a security meeting with a Chinese manufacturer of advanced anti-terrorism and high-tech defense equipment. The director of information and public relations, ministry of defense, Jeff promise said in Abuja on Tuesday that the, Meeting is a significant move to enhance Nigeria’s defense capabilities.
The ministry revealed that the meeting aims to strengthen strategic defense ties between Nigeria and china stressing that the primary focus of the engagement is to formalize a partnership through the signing of an MOU between the Chinese firm and the defense industries corporation of Nigeria. With the partnership, the Chinese company has committed to investing in Nigeria’s defense infrastructure, a move expected to play a crucial role in advancing Nigeria’s security sector
