Federal colleges of education to start awarding degrees

The Federal Government Has Officially Commenced The Implementation Of The Dual Mandate Policy Across All Federal Colleges Of Education, Following The Enactment Of The Federal Colleges Of Education Act, 2023.

The Director Of Press, Federal Ministry Of Education, Folasade Boriowo Said On Friday In Abuja That The Legislation, Signed Into Law By President Bola Tinubu, Empowers The Colleges To Concurrently Award The Nce Certificates And Bachelor’s Degrees In Education.

The Minister Of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa Said The Shift Marks A Significant Milestone In Nigeria’s Teacher Education Reform. He Described The Implementation As A Bold And Progressive Step. With The Dual Mandate Policy, Federal College Of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta And Others Will Now Start To Offer Both The Nce And Bachelor’s Degrees

The Commission Earlier Said Preliminary Findings Revealed Major Gaps In The Financial Records Of The Student Loan Scheme Adding That While The Federal Government Reportedly Released N100 Billion, Only N28.8 Billion Was Disbursed To Students, Leaving N71.2 Billion Unaccounted For.

Meanwhile, As Rockcity Had Reported, Nelfund’s Director Of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi Earlier On Thursday In Abuja Denied Any Discrepancies In The Disbursement Of The Student Loan Scheme.
