FG reopens Enugu airport today

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has announced on Sunday that the Akanu Ibiam international airport, Enugu will re-open today ahead of the scheduled May 6 date. Keyamo disclosed that the Government has completed repair works on the runway ahead of the scheduled time stating the Government worked extra hard to deliver the runway.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) announced a temporary closure of the airport on April 19 to allow for essential runway maintenance works. Emergency repair works on the runway, FAAN explained, was necessitated by a sudden and significant rupture in the asphalt surface at a critical section of the runway.
