US-Based Nigerian Indicted For $690k Scam, False Citizenship Claim.
A Nigerian-born US Citizen, Oladapo Fadugba, is facing 27 years in prison over his alleged involvement in a $690,000 wire fraud scheme and making false declarations to obtain US citizenship.
The US attorney for the district of Florida, Gregory Kehoe, disclosed on Wednesday that Fadugba allegedly made false claims during his naturalization process and diverted six hundred and ninety dollars belonging to the US department of veterans affairs. According to Kehoe, between October 2020 and July 2023, the suspect allegedly used another person’s identity to facilitate transfers of the money into various bank accounts under his control.
