Death toll hits five in Lagos collapsed building, 13 rescued

Death toll in the building collapse at Oremeta street, Ojodu Berger area of lagos on Saturday, has reached five.

According to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the permanent secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), thirteen adults have been successfully rescued alive from the rubble. The permanent secretary said the thirteen survivors received preliminary care at the scene before being transferred to appropriate facilities for further treatment. Tragically, five adults have been confirmed dead in the collapsed building, with their bodies recovered and transferred to the morgue for identification and further processing the (PERM) SEC said.

The LASEMA boss assured the public that all first responders remained on-site, working tirelessly to continue search and rescue efforts.
