Education Commissioner Tells Ogun Teachers To Be Role Models.

Ogun State Commissioner For Education, Science And Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu has advised that School children should not be left to their truancy, but rather be helped in learning habit so as to bring out the best in them.

The commissioner, who said this at a one-day training for Teachers in public secondary schools in Egba division at Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta,

Highlighted that behavioural management traits to be adopted by the teachers and other school administrators include, understanding learners problems, being a good role model, showing empathy, love, patience, building a relationship with children and showing of moral values. Special adviser to the governor on education, Dr. Ronke Soyombo, noted that behavioural management was about shifting from traditional reactive approach to more proactive, empathetic and student-centred strategies, saying learners behaviour could be better, if teachers showcase themselves as good role models.
