The Ogun State Government has handed over irrigation facilities to farmers in Ado, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area as well as renovated toilet facilities, in Ipokia Local Government area of the State under the OG-CARES FADAMA project. The state Government’s action is a part of the broader plans of the Dapo Abiodun’s administration to ensure food security in Ogun State and make the state the food basket of Nigeria.
Commissioner for Agriculture And Food Security, Hon. Bolu who handed over the facilities, noted that the irrigation facilities procured for the farmers, included, three (3) generating sets, one 18-litre irrigable sprayer, as well as land preparation covering five hectares of farmland. The commissioner also disclosed that, over 18,500 (eighteen thousand, five hundred) farmers across the 20 Local Government areas of the state have so far benefited from OG-CARES FADAMA project.
The facilities, according to Hon.
