House of Reps makes U-Turn on bill striping Vice President, Governors of Constitutional Immunity

House of Representatives has reversed itself on the bill seeking to strip the vice president, state governors and deputy governors of their constitutional immunity

On Wednesday, the bill, redefining the scope of constitutional immunity, limited it to the president, but completely remove  it for the vice president, state governors and their deputies

The bill, sponsored by Solomon bob, is one of the 42 constitutional bills which scaled the second reading during the Wednesday plenary

On Thursday, the lawmakers revisited the bill, after the house majority leader, honorable Julius Ihonvbre, moved a motion for the reinstatement of immunity for the vice president, state governors and deputy governors

Deputy speaker, Honorable Benjaminn Kalu, who presided over the Thursday plenary, said the reversal of the bill which scaled the second reading on Wednesday, was to allow for more deliberation on it He apologized to the sponsors of the bill
