The Factional Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero, has cancelled the Sallah Durbar procession he planned to mark the end of Ramadan fasting, explaining that he made the decision after consultation with elders and clerics who prevailed on him to cancel the procession in the interest of peace.

Penpushing reports that the embattled 15th Emir of Kano, in a broadcast late Wednesday, pleaded with people over his decision to cancelled the planned durbar arrangement, adding that the ceremony should not be seen as a do-or-die affair
