Fubara clear himself from allegation of pipeline bombing

The suspended Rivers State Governor has cleared himself from the allegations of backing those who attacked crude oil export pipeline in the state. The attacks on two major oil export pipelines in the state came hours after the state house of assembly served the Governor with an impeachment notice.
President Tinubu in his Nationwide Broadcast declaring a state of emergency in the state accused Fubara of failing to disown militants who threatened the attacks over the impeachment process. Tinubu also accused the Governor of not reconstructing the State house of assembly which was demolished by unknown persons during his disagreement with members of the house.
But Fubara in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi said the comment of the President was based on inaccurate information being sent to the Presidency. According to the Governor, his administration had been working with security agencies to discourage criminal activities and attacks on oil facilities in the state,
He said his administration provided accommodation, gunboats, vehicles and helicopters to security agencies operating in the state. Fubara also said the demolished house of assembly was undergoing reconstruction, and was 80 per cent completed.
He blamed the renewed attacks on oil pipelines on the provocative remarks made by FCT minister, Nyesom Wike on the Ijaw people.
