Dangote plans Nigeria’s largest seaport in OGUN, says new cement plant at Itori begins production soon

Dangote group of industries has indicated its return to Ogun State, proposing to construct Nigeria’s longest sea port in Nigeria in the State. The proposed Sea Port will be located at the Olokola free trade zone in the Ogun waterside.
Also, a new cement plant being constructed at Itori, near Abeokuta, will soon begin production, Chairman of Dangote group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, announced this on Monday, during a courtesy visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun at the Governor office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta. He said the group was returning to the State, years after it was frustrated out of the State by the Amosun administration.
Dangote told the Governor that the new Itori cement plant project was delayed in completion, because the site of the project was demolished twice by the Amosun administration. He said the Itori cement plant along with another at Ibeshe would be producing 18 million metric tonnes of cement annually, making Ogun the highest cement producing region in Africa. Dangote said the return of Dangote industries to Ogun was facilitated by Governor Abiodun due to his pro-business policies.
