Taraba Deputy Governor has stroke undergoing treatment in Egypt

Taraba State Deputy Governor, Aminu Alkali, has a stroke, He is receiving treatment in Cairo, Egypt. The State information commissioner, Zainab Usman made this known to newsmen after the weekly meeting of the State executive council at the Government house in Jalingo.
The Deputy Governor had not been seen in public since last November, and a group of people are calling for his impeachment for absenting himself from office beyond 90 days. The commissioner said the Deputy Governor following the stroke has not been able to talk, and had to be rushed to a hospital in Abuja, from where he was referred to a hospital in Egypt.
She said latest report shows that the Deputy Governor was recuperating and would soon returned to office. The commissioner dismissed calls for his impeachment because he had been away for more than 90 days. According to her, the 90 day constitutional provision does not apply to the deputy Governor, but a serving Governor.
