Presidency enters into talks with Senate on Natasha’s suspension

Federal Government says it will broker peace between the senate and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, over her six month suspension for breaching the protocols of the National Assembly.
Women Affairs Minister, Mrs Iman Suleiman-Ibrahim, gave this indication on Friday at a news conference held at the presidential villa, Abuja. She said the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has indicated the readiness of the senate, to talk on the suspension.
The minister said they would engage major stakeholders for the senate to temper justice with mercy, According to her, it was unfortunate that the face-off between the senate president and the senator degenerated to such a level. The senate on Thursday placed Natasha on a six month suspension, during which she would not collect salary The senate also, ordered the withdrawal of her security details, and demanded a formal apology from her.
