New Alafin, Owoade set for traditional performance

The new Alafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade [Ha-Keem O-Wo-A-De], has embarked on 21-day traditional rites, preparatory to his official coronation, that is scheduled to hold in Oyo on April 6, after these mandatory rites. The new Alafin’s Chief Of Staff, Rotimi Osunlola [Ro-Ti-Mi  Or-Shun-Lola], said the traditional rites would end on march 29.

A curfew is to be imposed on the town between (8) pm and (6) am daily for the duration of the traditional rites. The new Alafin returned from his base in Canada this week, and headed straight to Oyo for the mandatory rites
