Rivers Assembly asks Fubara to sack his cabinet

Asking him to presents new nominees list within 48 hours
Political tension escalated in Rivers State on Wednesday, as the State House of Assembly directed Governor Siminalayi Fubara to sack members of his Cabinet. The Assembly ordered the Governor to fire all other political appointees in his administration.
The Assembly asked the Governor to submit a list of Fresh Nominees for legislative screening within 48 Hours. The Reinstated Speaker, Honorable Martins Amawhule, Made the Call in a Letter forwarded to the Governor, As the 48 hour deadline earlier issued for the Presentation of the 2025 budget bill expired on Wednesday
The Speaker in the Letter accused the Governor of Appointing the Cabinet Members and other Political Appointees without Approval of the House. Earlier, The State Government had rejected the 48 Hour deadline issued to the Governor to present the State’s 2025 budget bill for approval. The State Government said it requires a formal notification from the Assembly
