Oyo State Gov. Makinde set to unveil successor
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has promised to unveil his preferred successor In January 2026
The Governor said the name would be made public to coincide with the beginning of the 2027 political activities kicking off in January Next Year
Makinde stated this in Ibadan during the eleventh Omititun Ramadan lecture held at the Oyo State Government house in Ibadan
He dismissed the growing perception in some Quarters That He was now a lame duck Governor as his tenure was winding up
Makinde directed that his electioneering campaign billboard at Isale Afa in Ibadan should not be removed
He promised that the billboard would be used to paste the picture of his preferred successor In January 2026 There Has Been Speculation That Makinde is Interested In the 2027 Presidential Poll, A political ambition he has not confirmed or denied
